2. Geographical information: Lakshadweep covers a distance of thirty two square kilometers. Lakshadweep comprising of thirty six small islands is the smallest union territory in India. It is located off the south western coastline of India. These islands consist of twelve coral reefs. Three of the islands are submersed banks in Arabian sea. These islands are flat leveled and very small and barely four to five meters over and above the sea level. Lakshadweep islands are at a distance of two hundred and twenty kilometers from the Cochin coastline.
