Intestinal yeast infections are generally caused by a fungus similar to yeast known as Candida. A mild number of Candida germs are not harmful and may be present in one or the other part of the body without any negative effect on health. The problem takes shape when Candida overgrows and results in an infection. Yeast infection is commonly observed in vaginal parts, mouth as well as the digestive tract. Candida infection affects women more in comparison to men and may also affect those with a poor immunity.
